An Overview of the XF 35mm f1.4 R

This is that one lens, all camera systems need ‘that’ lens and for Fuji this is it.  It is the one lens that you must own regardless of what you shoot. Maybe the best and most well made lens (aside from the ‘red label’ weather sealed lenses) that Fuji have made & one of three lenses that comes with a metal lens hood.

Of all the Fuji Lenses this is the one that always comes with me all the time, it lives on my X-Pro and according to my Lightroom stats is the lens I have shot with most and also has given me more images than any other lens that has been used in my portfolio.  It will be interesting to see if the XF 16-55mm will beat that statistic after a few years of shooting though.

‘The 35mm f1.4 is truthfully best experienced if not wide open, nowhere past f5.6. Otherwise, you’re doing an extreme injustice to yourself by not taking advantage of the beautiful bokeh and extreme sharpness that the lens has to offer wide open. In my personal opinion and comparisons, this lens is just a tad softer than my trust 35mm f1.4 for my Canon 5D Mk II in the center. Granted (and I totally understand), they are two totally different lenses for different formats. But that statement is literally just to compare how far the technology has come along.’
