Back in Feb Evangeline Elizabeth invited me up to Gate 38 in Leicester. The location was aviation themed bar and pretty damn amazing.  We thought that some lingerie / light erotica with a deep contrast black and white finish would look amazing.

Everything was lit with the 180cm softbox which had the grid fitted, then I used my Lee Filter kit to add the shadows and extra contrast.  Styling was mix of both of us with most of the lingerie coming come Asos & Agent P.

Erotica is a very interesting subject to me and this is another shoot which for me slightly moves my work forward. A few weeks before this shoot I had been lucky enough to photograph Peliroja (click here for link), as with that shoot this shoot was an extension of the same overall attempt of working to replicate provocative style of Helmet Newton. The two locations are very different and had the different challenges.

Trying to move away from the technical and working on the content and context was more on my mind, I have found that working with one large light source was the way to go and the filters let me change my lighting in camera super fast. (blog about my filter set up) Shooting and creating such images as the below, for me, can be made super challenging when we are using big lighting set up’s.  Keep it simple and keeping your subject comfy is more vital than ever if the model is working to higher or more exposed levels.
