I get a few commissions from people looking for head shots for many reasons, I have not worked with a dancer before so when Sophie Louise Boulter got in touch I was very happy. We was aiming to get a nice mix of character portraits and dance shots for her to use on her dance CV after studying dance in Liverpool (LIPA)

We played about with some ideas and settled on a mix of portrait / dance and we liked the idea of a location shoot at Kenilworth Castle.

With the UK weather being what it was we had some time to wait for the light to be just right then went for it !  We had a great laugh, lots of jumping and I was pretty impressed with my timing and how many times Sophie would leap up so gracefully.

We shot during the day, had some lunch then shot using the sunset !

Everything was shot on a D800 using a mix of Sigma 35mm, Sigma 24-105mm and 105mm lenses. Lighting was provided by speedlights and an Orbis ring flash triggered and controlled using Pocket Wizards.
