There are camera companies and then there is Fuji. Few companies in the world in recent years, especially in the camera market have been able to really get their minds around the new and changing markets.

The Fuji team in the UK have always been wonderful to work with and delightful people who have put photography first. This is echoed though the company and shows it self though little things like software updates for older hardware and fantastic costumer service.

Fuji are a camera company that do listen and want happy people creating images. The most recent addition from Fuji that got my attention was not a new lens or camera body but the new SIGNATURE range that is only for us here in the UK by the Fuji UK team !

Here is my new and very YELLOW Fuji X-Pro!

Here is the X-Pro sitting on top of the matching yellow Peli Case next to my X-T1. I have a prototype Thumb grip, hand grip and plate from http://photomaddshop.com/

The X-Signature service is currently available on the following models: X-Pro1, X-E1, X100, X20, X10 and will shortly also be offered on the X-E2 and X100S.

This service is also available on new cameras. The cost is £129.99 to re-skin your existing camera, or £99.99 if you order a new camera in an X Signature colour.

I hear what some people are going to say, and that cameras should be black, they should only ever be black and almost hidden away.  But, I really like the idea of a fun camera that does get attention and create a talking point. For the type of work I do the bright vibrant yellow helps me stand out. The first shot I got to do with my new Yellow X-Pro was photographing Sir Bob Geldof, during his recent tour just before the new Live Aid announcement.

Fuji X-Photographer and reportage superemo Kevin Mullins was the first to have his X-Pro go under the knife. On his blog about the new skins he does point out something that I noticed also, ‘It actually feels better in the hand, and almost gives it a “better quality” feel.’ Kevin says.  the new Skins have more texture than the stock skins. Check Kevins blog out here – http://www.the-owl.co.uk/news/x-signature.html

Soon after Kevin had Black Lizard skin, X-Photographer Matthew Maddock was the next on the list to send his X-Pro of for a clean, update and new Skin.  Matthew opted for Burnt Orange which really does look amazing in real life. The images below do not do the camera justice. – You can read about Matthews new skinned cameras here – http://photomadd.com/fujifilm-x-signature-cameras/
